Today we are featuring the wedding of local newlyweds, Kathryn and Matthew.

The bride happens to spell her name exactly the same as our owner, so, of course we had to tell you all about this adorable couple’s love story.

“At the time we began dating, Matthew was living in McHenry while I was in Libertyville. Everytime I visited him I would drive past Kathryn’s Bridal. I used to tell Matt that if we get engaged I will have to go and find my dress there. I was lucky enough for that to happen!

‘Kathryn’s Bridal was such a phenomenal experience every step of the way. I worked with Emily and she was absolutely incredible. I was not the best at describing what I wanted in a dress but with the few details I provided she was able to find me the dress of my dreams. On top of that, everytime I had an appointment or simply wanted to try the dress on again Emily was there. It made the experience so much more special knowing everyone who works there was so friendly and really cared about my feelings.

“Their in-house seamstress did an outstanding job and made the dress fit me perfectly. She was very experienced and listened to what I had to say. They made my dress shopping experience stress free and a wonderful memory I can cherish forever. I would recommend Kathryn’s to anyone. It was the best shopping experience I have ever had. The best part was I kept my dress a secret from everyone except my mom and maid of honor.

“Matt and I are a very adventurous couple who love traveling and trying new things. One of our favorite things to do while we are traveling is try a new local ice cream place on our trip. Since this is so special to us on our wedding day we went and tried a new local ice cream shop. This was one our favorite moments because it tried together something we both love and will be a memory we will cherish forever.

“We also enjoy spending time outdoors and admiring nature. We decided we wanted to get married outside and what better place than right next to a lake. We grew our own pumpkins to use as our wedding decorations. We had a wedding plant that we used as a unity ceremony. We poured water and soil on it from our first homes together. Matt describes the wedding as a picture perfect day with not a cloud in the sky. It was a dream come true that he was about to marry his dream girl. His favorite moment was finding out his ring was engraved during the ceremony,” ~ Real bride Kathryn.
