Maggie + Edward’s Downtown Milwaukee Wedding

Today we’re very honored to share the stunning wedding of Maggie and Edward. Both the ceremony and reception were held at St. James 1868. This is a 150 year old historic church and venue in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin with original Tiffany stained glass windows, 15th century hand-carved monastery panels, original hardwood floors and antique light fixtures. It is a gorgeous space with modern elegance.

The couple met on a dating app and according to the bride, “Edward had a picture of himself with his new puppy and I thought she looked just like my dog! So, I swiped right just to let him know our dogs looked similar and we started talking from there.

“After 3 years of dating, having 2 dogs and a cat, and buying a house together, we became engaged on a trip to Williams Bay in Wisconsin. We were eating breakfast and sitting on a porch looking at the lake. Ed was eating his breakfast slower than normal. I asked him if his breakfast wasn’t what he wanted and he said it was, but there was something else he wanted too and then he proposed.

“Once we were engaged, I knew right away I planned to get my dress at Kathryn’s. I had been there as a Maid of Honor a few years earlier with a bride who found her dress there and I loved the experience. I have multiple other friends and coworkers who had gotten their dresses there, too, and everyone only had positive things to say.

“When I went for my appointment, I only had my mom with me. My stylist Emily made us feel so welcome and did an amazing job helping me with my dress. She ultimately picked my wedding dress and it was just perfect. Literally, the first thing everyone said to me at the wedding was how much they loved my dress. We enjoyed my experience so much, we also got my mom’s dress for the wedding at Kathryn’s which was another great experience,” ~ Real bride Maggie.
