Live today on our blog is the stunning wedding of Megan and Jake. Their romantic ceremony took place at St. Patrick’s Church in McHenry followed by a gorgeous reception at Independence Grove, a 1,100-acre preserve with tranquil grasslands and unforgettable lake views. The natural beauty of the venue was perfectly harmonized with the colors, florals and vibe of their celebration.
Local love stories are always a favorite of ours! And this couple met during their first year as students at Northern Michigan University through mutual friends. “We fell in love in the U.P. and just so happened to live within an hour of each other in Illinois,” shares the bride.
Megan wore a sophisticated lace sheath bridal dress with vintage-inspired charm by Sottero and Midgley. The gown features a plunging illusion v neckline and back. Beaded lace motifs over textured tulle finish the timeless, couture look.
The entire wedding party wore attire from Kathryn’s Bridal. The bridesmaids looked lovely and felt comfortable in flowing chiffon dresses from MoriLee. The spice tone gowns paired perfectly with the flowers.
The groom and his groomsmen wore Steel Grey Sterling three piece Wedding Suits from Michael Kors for Kathryn’s Bridal. Designer details include a self-framed lapel, soft satin lining and matching modern slim fit pants with belt loops and buttons for suspenders. The groomsmen each had a spice striped tie and pocket square to coordinate with the bridesmaids.
The fashionable mother of the groom looked elegant in a gown from the Montage Collection of Mon Cheri for Kathryn’s. The emerald colored dress features metallic ribbon work over this lace trumpet gown. The V-neckline has illusion modesty, a beaded natural waistline, and a horsehair hem with a sweeping train.
